I find myself yet again on the move - this time moving away from the packed narrow streets of London to a place that is at once very brown - but with record amounts of rain in October seemingly green - yet a landscape so foreign now to my senses. and hot—-so so hot. I’ve bored my friends and partner to tears with exclamations of the desert heat. Even the wind that sometimes barrels through seems to rustle up more heat instead of a momentary relief.
Phoenix, Arizona and as it says in Greek mythology via wikipedia, a phoenix is a long-lived bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
So much here - so beautiful to think about - regenerating or reinventing oneself in the desert land with a fiery namesake.
I’ve treasured these days of not having an official job to look at the photographs I’ve taken and squirreled away for a later date. Some old photographs remain and some new and more new to come as I slowly work through film from the the last 5 years. I hope you enjoy the new site and do let me know your thoughts…
signing off for now.
